Most of the dentistry we do today has some cosmetic aspect to it. The procedures listed below, for the most part, are elective procedures. This means they are done primarily for the reason of appearance improvement. Although they can sometimes have life-changing effects, you as the patient, should have a full understanding of what is involved in the procedure you choose. You should never be “talked into” any of these procedures but always make intelligent, informed decisions. Please ask us if you would like to see more before & after examples of our work. Click on each of the procedures below to see examples of the effects they can have on your smile:
- Reconstruction of worn teeth
- Cosmetic Bonding
- Porcelain Veneers
- Dental Whitening
Reconstruction of worn teeth: Tooth wear is a very common problem. It can lead to TMJ problems, broken teeth, loss of teeth, a change in appearance of the teeth and difficulty chewing to name a few of the problems. Early detection is key to avoid major reconstruction of the teeth. In this example, the teeth were reconstructed with porcelain/gold crowns.
Cosmetic Bonding: Old “fillings” and spaces between teeth are a couple of the problems that can be solved with bonding. This process involves chemically adhering resin composite to your tooth.
Porcelain Veneers: Porcelain veneers are like artificial fingernails for the teeth. They can be used to improve the color, shape and/or arrangement of the teeth. Veneers can be used for “Instant Orthodontics” for some cases of mild to moderately mis-aligned teeth.
Dental Whitening: There are many different ways to whiten teeth. Media exposure of this process has become overwhelming. It seems there are so many different choices. The fact remains, the most effective way to whiten your teeth is professionally in a dental office. We use a technique which we believe is most effective and cost-efficient. The examples in this section are of both naturally darkening teeth and those that have had tetracycline staining.
We also offer Zoom! Whitening. This is the procedure most commonly done on the show Extreme Makeovers.
